Letter From Brooklyn

According to http://www.historyofmasks.com/, masks have been around for over 9000 years and the oldest found mask is from 7000 BC.  Masks have been used in various cultures for rituals, religious  ceremonies and  in the theatre.  Ancient masks were made of wood, leather, and   metals and they were used for protection or to scare enemies. Paper and cloth have also been used in mask making.  Movie characters like the Lone Ranger, and Zoro both wore masks to protect their identities, as they did good deeds to help their fellowman.

Since the outbreak of the Coronavirus, masks have become necessary as protection from spreading the deadly droplets to health care workers, first responders, and the general population, who were not initially included.  People have gotten comfortable behind masks because they also give a sense of power, security and anonymity.  Whereas, some peaceful protesters wore masks, to comply with the Covid-19 protocols, during the late George Floyd's marches, unfortunately, looters, rioters, anarchists  and arsonists used them as cover to do their evil deeds, and flout the law.

Today, we are not sure who are hiding behind these masks but many will be exposed, when the masks are removed, to reveal their true identities.  Eventually, we will all be unmasked,  like Lieutenant General Michael Flynn, former National Security advisor to President Trump and former head of the Defense Intelligence Agency under President Obama. Are we ready?
