 Above is the ackee of Barbados. It is not used in any dishes but eaten as a fruit.

Jamaicans refer to the Barbados ackee as guineps. Trinidadians also refer to the Barbados ackee as guinep.

Deryck’s father, worked in a managerial/ supervisory capacity at what we called the Coke factory, which was situated extremely close to our school.
